Singinawa Jungle Lodge
Singinawa – Protectors of the sacred forest.
An eco-tourism initiative with a strong focus on wild life conservation.
A world class resort in the tiger heartland of India where we follow the Sherpa philosphy of Singinawa and work closely with the local communities in the buffer zone of Kanha national park on conservation, protection and social development issues taking care to respect the land and the people and animals that inhabit it
Singinawa Jungle Lodge is managed by Nanda and Latika Rana
Nanda is from the Royal Rana family of Nepal but has spent over 20 years studying tigers in the forests of Madhya Pradesh. His expertise attracted the attention of National Geographic and he was appointed as a special consultant for their projects on the tiger for the year of the tiger in 1998. He has also made films for the BBC and Discovery Channels on the tiger. He has gained international recognition for his photographs of Indian wildlife and has held several photographic exhibitions internationally.
Latika is a wildlife biologist with a D.Phil. on Tiger Conservation and Management from the University of Oxford. She is the first ever woman to be awarded a doctorate on tiger conservation and management, and National Geographic made a one hour film on her in the year 2000 called the Tiger Princess. Her work has also been featured in a documentary on the Discovery Channel.
Nanda and Latika are supported by Mike Galletly and Clair Campbell who have developed a passion for Indian wildlife during 18 years of extensive travel to many of India’s National Parks and Sanctuaries.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
Kanha Tiger Reserve is managed by the Government of India and Park timings, access and facilities are dependant on rules set by the Park management and are subject to change without prior notice.
Kanha Tiger Reserve is only open to visitors between October and June each year inclusive.
For visits to the reserve clothing in subdued colours especially greens and browns help you to blend with the forest causing minimum disturbance to wildlife.
Summer temperature ranges from 11° C to 43° C while in winter it is from -2° C to 29° C.
Winter mornings can be very cold as all trips into the Tiger Reserve are made in open 4×4 vehicles. We recommend that you carry plenty of warm clothing including gloves, scarves and thermals if you are planning to visit Singinawa between December and February each year. In the summers as the sun is strong, we recommend that you carry a hat or head covering of some sort.
Do bring a pair of binoculars with you especially if you are interested in Bird Watching. Kanha boasts of several hundred bird species..
Though we do carry certain essential commodities in our shop, we recommend that you carry enough medication, clothing and film with you.
Singinawa is located in a remote area of the country and you will not be able to use credit cards in most places outside the resort. Please carry enough money with you to meet all your expenses on the journey.
It is often not possible to make last minute reservations on trains and airplanes in India. Please ensure that you have made and confirmed all necessary air and train reservations before you undertake your journey.
In India, the electricity and all appliances used are 220v.
India requires most visitors to obtain a valid visa for the country. Please carry your passport and visa with you at the time of your visit.
We would also recommend that you are the beneficiary of a travel insurance policy covering at least injury, death, medical costs, emergency evacuation, repatriation, loss of or damage to personal belongings (due to theft or otherwise) and cancellation.
