From the modern city of Bangalore to Hampi, the wonderful ruins of the 16th century Vijayanagara Empire, to Mysore, the city of palaces, incense and sandalwood to the Wildlife Sanctuary of Nagarhole and down the coast to Cochin and Trivandrum.

Day 1
Arrive at Bangalore.

Stay at The Taj West End Hotel, a converted 19th century mansion with villas and gardens.

Alternatively, stay at the simpler Villa Pottipati, run by Neemrana Group of non-hotels.

Day 2
Relax at Bangalore ~ then take Overnight Train (Sleeper) to Hampi.

Day 3

Arrive Hampi early morning. Met & transferred to The Boulders.

Visit the Hampi Heritage Site with car and driver and our guide.

Stay at The Boulders.

Day 4

AM & PM local sight sightseeing with car and driver and our guide. Have lunch at Hampi’s hidden gem The Mango Tree Restaurant.

In the evening take the Overnight ( Sleeper) train to Bangalore.

Day 5

Arrive at Bangalore.

Driven to Mysore, via Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace at Sriangapatnam.

Stay at the Gitanjali Homestay.

Day 6

Visit Maharaja’s Palace, Chamundi Hill with Shiva Temple, Nandi (Bull) and the Devaraja Market.

Stay a second night at Gitanjali Homestay.

Day 7

Driven to Nagarhole.

Stay at the luxurious Orange County Kabini. Situated in the heart of the Nagarhole forest and surrounded on three sides by the Kabini river, Orange County, Kabini is built in authentic Kuruba village style. Each palm-thatched hut at the resort comes fitted with all the luxuries you could hope for including its own plunge pool or Jacuzzi in a private, open-to-sky courtyard. Nagarhole forest supports the highest density of herbivores in Asia in addition to its three major predators.

Day 8

Visit the Wildlife Sanctuary, for viewing of Elephants and a rich variety of bird life.

Day 9

Driven to to Wayanad. Stay at My Garden of Eden.

A few cottages are tucked inside the forest, away from the prying eyes of civilization, in a sleepy hamlet of Wayanad ( unspoilt part of Northern Kerala, with panoramic views of the mountains as far as the eyes could see. The mountains, fruit trees, flowers, coffee, tea, herbs, chirping birds and the lullaby of nature will play a harmonizing and energizing symphony on your mind body and soul. The place is ideal for nature lovers and people who want to restore the harmony of their inner selves. It is a perfect place to explore Wayanad since it is located conveniently close to most of the sight seeing attractions in Wayanad.

Day 10

Stay at a second night at My Garden of Eden.

Day 11

Driven to Calicut to board the day train to Ernakulam. Transfer to Fort Cochin.

The port of Cochin is characterised by many colonial influences; the Portuguese Church of St. Francis, the Jewish Synagogue and Mattanchery Palace, built by the Portuguese and renovated by the Dutch.

Stay at the renovated 300 year old boutique hotel The Malabar House or their nearby Trinity.

Or, stay at Brunton Boatyard, a luxury hotel resurrected from an old Victorian boatyard and situated at the Fort Cochin harbour mouth, overlooking the busy shipping channel.

Alternatively, stay at Le Colonial, a recently converted luxury hotel, the former residence of the Dutch Governors and reputed to have been the home of Vasco da Gama and St. Francis, has been lovingly restored and is a veritable living museum.

Day 12

Explore Cochin.

Stay a second night at your chosen hotel.

Day 13

Driven to Periyar.

Stay at Kanjirapally Estate, a Coffee and Cardamom plantation home of a delightful couple, Mathew and Gita.

Day 14

Experience a tranquil boat ride on Periyar Lake and take walks through the deliciously aromatic Coffee and Cardamom plantations.

Stay a second night at Kanjirapally Estate.

Day 15

Transfer to a Rice Barge Houseboat for an Overnight Houseboat Cruise of the backwaters, observing all of life; the people living on narrow strips of land, fishing, washing, cooking, going to school, farming and harvesting the paddy.

Day 16
