From New Delhi, the capital of India, to two former capitals of the Moghul Empires, Agra with the glorious Taj Mahal, and Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted city of Emperor Akbar and onto Rajasthan, the land of the Rajputs, palaces, desert forts and wildlife sanctuaries. This is the essence of colourful and romantic India.

Day 01

From Jodhpur, driven 3 hours to Manvar to stay at The Manvar Desert Camp , consisting of 30 colourfully decorated, safari-style tents arranged in a semi-circle around a central ‘Durbar Hall’

Day 02

Driven 150kms/3hours to Jaisalmer. Stay at Surya Garh, Jaisalmer . This Luxury hotel combines the modern and the medieval, the timeless and the timely, the Spartan and the sumptuous.
Or stay at The Serai, the luxurious desert camp and spa, close to the medieval city of Jaisalmer (30kms away).
Alternatively stay at the simple Hotel Killa Bhawan within the ramparts of Jaisalmer Fort.

Day 03

In the morning, explore the Fort.
In the late afternoon be driven to a fabulous view-point to watch the sun set !

Day 04

Driven 2hours to Pokaran. Stay at Fort Pokaran, the 14th century citadel also known as “Balagarh” stands as a paragon amidst the Thar Desert.

(There is a weaving unit within the Fort to support local weavers and all the products made by the weavers are on display there. The Guests are free to visit this traditional weaving unit and should they be interested they can also be taken to a local weaver’s hut called Dhani. Some of the weavers in the area continue to work out of their Dhani)

Day 05

Driven 4 hours to outside the city of Bikaner to stay at Gajner Palace , a lakeside palace-complex adjoining a sanctuary, in the middle of Thar desert.

Day 06

In the morning visit Junagarh Fort & city
Stay a second night at Gajner Palace

Day 07

Driven 4 hours to Mandawa (Shekhawati area) to stay at The Desert Resort. The mystery and romance of the desert are captured in the unusual architecture of this resort. Recreated in the style of a typical Rajasthani village, The Desert Resort is a verdant oasis in the midst of a stark desert landscape.

Day 08

Explore the nearby painted havelis and villages.

Stay a second night at The Desert Resort.

Day 09

Driven 5 hours to Delhi. Over night at Delhi hotel or to Delhi International to catch your flight back home-
