Bharatpur Agra Khajuraho Bandhavgarh Kanha

The diversity of India’s climate and topography has resulted in a rich flora and fauna.  Recently, conservation measures have been adopted to preserve the wonderful heritage of India’s fauna. In particular, Project Tiger, which set aside areas and a ban on hunting of tiger, has resulted in improvements in the status of the tiger, other mammals, and the flora of these sanctuaries.
(Note: Season is mid October to March/April).

Bharatpur, Keoladeo Ghana is the foremost water bird sanctuary and heronry in the world.  More than 300 species of birds are found in this small wildlife park of 29 square kilometres of which 11 square kilometres are marshes and the rest scrubland and grassland.

Bandhavgarh, in Central India, is considered by many as the finest of all sanctuaries in India, with very good sighting of tigers, and is the home of many rare and endangered species.

At Kanha, the heart of the land romanticised byKipling in his Jungle Books, there is a good chance of observing tiger, leopard, gaur, sloth bear, blackbuck and the barasingha.
